OPEN-POLLINATED SEEDS
Less than 10 companies currently produce 75% of all the seed where our food comes from nd they are also usually pesticide and fertilizer dealers).
Open-pollinated seeds are those that have been produced as a result of natural pollination from birds, insects, wind, or even manual pollination. They are not genetically modified or hybrid seeds. This means that they grow more or less true to type (similar to the parent plant).
Heirloom seeds, on the other hand, are seeds that have been passed down over generations. Usually, if you are growing them in the same area, these would have more pest resistance.
